Last week seven gifted and talented students participating in the Whole School Learning Project at Oberon High experienced learning opportunities in the nation's capital when they visited educational institutions and enjoyed fun activities in Canberra.
Over three days the students visited the Canberra Zoo, the Australian Institute of Sports, the University of Canberra and the Australian National University. This gave them a great insight and understanding of what is available and the expectations of studying in Canberra. During this time they were encouraged to think about their tertiary goals. They will now continue on their path of academic excellence so they can attain their goals when they complete their studies at Oberon High School.
Mrs Christian, Head Teacher HSIE and Mr Luccarda, Deputy Principal
accompanied the students and were delighted with the mature and responsible way the students conducted themselves. It is hoped to hold a similar excursion in 2014 for the next batch of gifted and talented students at Oberon High.
