25 Jul 2013

On Friday 28th June 2013 many outstanding and talented Oberon High School students entered the very popular local competition – Oberon's Got Talent! Our students entered dance, guitar, singing and piano items which were all well received by the big crowd on the night. Our very own English/History teacher Miss McTrustry was on the judging panel and she was thrilled with the talents and efforts of our Oberon High students.
Massive thanks must go to professional musician Mickey Pye for all his efforts in supporting the students, tutorials and rehearsals which occurred in the lead up to the exciting night. Mickey Pye is now a regular at Oberon High School supporting the musical talents of many of our students each Monday and Wednesday. Mr Pye continues to offer lessons in Guitar, Bass, Banjo, and Mandolin in all styles of music; however he now has the services of Sam Reid (Drum Tutor) and Abby Smith (Vocal Coach) available if there are students who wish to further pursue their musical talents. Oberon High School proved to be very successful on the night, scooping the pools and taking out all the top awards. We all look forward to the next round of Oberon's Got Talent!
