The 2014 school year has started at Oberon High with some new faces in both the teaching and support staff.Last year a number of teachers were farewelled, and this year sees Ruth Grace, the new Teacher Librarian, Amber Crouch as the Performing Arts Teacher, Shannon Marshall and Jerome Nyambane teaching Mathematics, Meg Windsor as a new Learning Support Teacher and Julie Stevens assisting in the Support classes, joining the staff. Maddy McAlister has been appointed to teach English for Term 1.
These new teachers bring a range of valuable experience to the school and are looking forward to making a positive difference, advancing the education of the students in the school. Their backgrounds include experience in remote, regional and metropolitan schools. They are pictured in the Library, where Miss Grace has already been busy organising the collection and creating study and reading areas.
The school has also welcomed back local teacher Katie Graham who returns to Oberon High School after a long stint working for the region in technology.
After a long temporary and casual stint at the school, Philip Watkins has been permanently appointed in the HSIE faculty.
