Religion and ethics

NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.

During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.

You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

SRE at Oberon High School

SRE takes place at our school every Friday with students in Year 7 and Year 8 participating. 

SRE at our school is coordinated through the Oberon Christian Life Centre which is affiliated with Australian Christian Churches.

SRE is a stand-alone program coordinated by a Christian focused community group, however, in exploring spiritual beliefs it does provide an alternative that students can choose to assist in greater wellbeing and therefore is a welcome addition to our whole school wellbeing program.
